Field Notes

Description:

Small cylindrical fungus, bigger ones' diameter reaching 4 to 5 mm. From a distance, it looks like an empty bowl, but looking closer it is possible to see that the inside of the "bowl" actually just has a different, darker, slightly translucent color.

Notes:

Kingdom Fungi, Division Basidiomycota, Class Agaricomycetes, Order Agaricales, Family Nidulariaceae, Genus Cyathus.
