Field Notes

Description:

Erebidae; Boletobiinae; Eublemmini; Eublemma accedens (Felder & Rogenhofer, 1874). Wikipedia and EOL both have information on Eublemma accedens, but they do not include the Philippines in their distribution list of countries for this moth. However, Philippine Lepidoptera do display it, in their Boletobiinae section. So, no problem with its presence here.

Habitat:

This Eublemma accedens was spotted in a rice field which was left uncultivated this season to allow the land to rest. When we do this, an amazing variety of grasses and foliage springs up very quickly and creates what I like to call a tropical meadow.
