Field Notes

Description:

About 1 cm in size these tracks. Is that also a tail marking?
We are hoping these are from some gecko's but fearing it was rats.

Habitat:

The classroom. "Somewhere" in Thailand ... :-P

Notes:

We have this writing tray out sometimes. It has colored sand in it, so children are encouraged to practice writing....or rats/ gecko's ??? can have a ball...We are hoping these are from gecko's but fearing they were rats.

Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

I don't have any actual experience with geckos, but I would guess these are made by a mammal, not a lizard. A gecko's feet are to either side of the body so there is more space between the left and right feet. A rat's feet are under the body.
