Yes Seema ,it is disturbing. Happy to know that the critter got away.
I was disturbed to see a squirrel choked with a plastic bag in a nearby park. Anyway, after much struggle, the pure critter got rid of it. Polythene as we know are nuisance.
I agree entirely Emma, but the birds don't discriminate. I picked up yards of discarded fishing line at the lake last week - so many birds come to grief when their feet get entangled in it, but I've also seen birds use this as nesting material.
But Karen , Plastic is so bad for wild life. I really wish people would stop littering plastic!
I found one like this recently too - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8945110 I actually think it is quite ingenious how the birds use what we throw away as nesting material!
