Description:
The male cardinal is an all-red bird with pointed crest and black patch at base of heavy, triangular reddish bill. The female cardinal is buff brown with some red on wings and tail. Her crest, dark face, and heavy reddish orange bill are distinctive.
Habitat:
These wonderful northern cardinals are our backyard birds. They always remind me that the holidays are coming.
