Seen at the Tshanga Lookout, close to the Bateleur Bush Camp and 38km from Shingwedzi Rest Camp, Kruger National Park.

"We are in South Africa today with this striking Blue-tailed sandveld lizard (Nucras caesicaudata) as our Spotting of the Day! This distinctive lizard in the family Lacertidae is found in southern Mozambique, southwestern Zimbabwe and the extreme northeast of South Africa. Sandveld is a type of open landscape characterized by dry, sandy soil, typical of certain areas of the Southern African region. This lizard seems to be rarely encountered, and it the second record only for this species on Project Noah".
