Description:

The Fiery Skipper is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae and is approximately 1 inch long. The males are orange or yellow with black spots while the females are dark brown with orange or yellow spots. The caterpillars are greenish pink with a black head.

Habitat:

Grassmere Historic farm, Nashville

Great! That's narrowed the search down!
Oh, but with the Hylephila genus clear I looked and now have to find the description of only 9 species of the genus Hylephila in Chile.
Thanks Agustin! The skippers (Hesperiidea) are a huge genus & we have maybe 70 different species here in Tennessee alone!
I had no ide how this odd butterflies where called, and no idea to which family they belonged. Thanks.
