Field Notes

Notes:

I haven't seen many photos like these ones, so I think they must be a bit rare. They show two spiders mating. First I saw them from some distance. When I came near them, they split up, and the male run for cover, while I tried to photograph him. But, a couple minutes later nature called out loud, and he went back to his loved one. In less than a second, he came bellow her, and enlaced her again with his legs, belly to belly. Then I thought I had bothered them too much, and that they deserved some pravacy, so I left... Third picture shows the male alone.

Nice one Sergio! I'm of the opinion that you can safely ID this as a Flower Crab Spider (Thomisus sp.)
