Field Notes
Description:
I spotted these female hawk moths around 3PM and the males starting at 5PM.
Habitat:
The female hawk moths were pollination Pink Lady's Thumb (Persicaria vulgaris) around the edge of a dried up lake at Jackson Bottom Wetland reserve in Cornelius, Oregon. I found the males out patrolling the field of flowers in the lake bed a little bit later in the day and I'm working on getting a better picture of them.
