Description:

Everes lacturnus is a small butterfly (see 2nd photo) found in Australasia and Indomalaya that belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family.

Habitat:

Spotted on yellow walking iris in a large semi-urban yard and garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

Notes:

The posterior appendages on the wings, the "tails", moved independently of the still wings (as if antennae), as the butterfly rested on the plant!
