Description:

The Cuban rock iguana is one largest of the West Indian rock iguanas (genus Cyclura), and one of the most endangered groups of lizards.

Habitat:

Spotted a "slaughter" of iguanas on "Iguana Island" in the Archipiélago de los Canarreos.

Thanks Laura, I think you're right. This guy is definitely a Cuban rock iguana (Cyclura nubila). Sad to hear their population numbers are threatened :(

Marine iguanas live only in the Galapagos, but I am afraid my knowledge of terrestrial reptiles is lacking! Possibly one of these guys? http://www.arkive.org/cayman-islands-ground-iguana/cyclura-nubila Cool spotting Peter :D
