Field Notes

Description:

Small dragonfly. Mostly dark, blue/black coloration with dark, yellowish markings on the dorsal abdomen. This species is quite variable in coloration. They are one of the only species that breed in salt water.

Habitat:

Meadow bordering temperate forest (salt-marsh habitat within the park as well). Gardiner County Park, New York.
