Field Notes

Description:

Females are buffy gray, with less red than males. Both sexes have stout, round (parrot-like) yellowish bills and reddish highlights in the wings. Pointed crest.

Habitat:

Spotted in a tree at the National Butterfly Center in Mission, Texas.
