Field Notes

Description:

1st winter plumage. This is at an age where it can be difficult to separate the two sub-species and even more difficult to determine the sex, even with the bird in the hand for ringing. This website provides information for ringers http://www.bto.org/sites/default/files/u17/downloads/about/resources/al… whether it is useful in this case I am not certain.

Habitat:

Country park
