Field Notes

Description:

A colourful little beetle 2-2.5cm long and found on a grassy track through some heathland/grassland a few hundred metres from a coniferous plantation. When it was apparently scared it made an interesting squeeking noise and picked up the pace looking for somewhere to burrow and hide. On the photos it appears there may be an egg sack on it's underneath (fourth photo)
