Description:

Craspedia paludicola, commonly known as "swamp billy-buttons", is an erect annual or perennial herb of the family Asteraceae. It is an Australian native wildflower. Bright yellow colour, and it was fascinating watching the flower heads go to seed. Height of the tallest flowers was roughly 60 cms. PS: The name of this national park is Girraween, which actually means "place of flowers".

Habitat:

Swampy areas and grassy wetlands, seasonally flooded areas and drainage lines. Tolerates inundation, often partially submerged. This spotting was in a swampy section of Paling Yard Creek, Girraween National Park, southeast Queensland. Notes:

This is one of two species of Craspedia documented in this national park, the other being C. canens, commonly known as "grey billy-buttons". http://www.rymich.com/girraween/index.php?section=plants&sub=flowering&… https://wetlandinfo.des.qld.gov.au/wetlands/facts-maps/wildlife/?AreaID…
