Description:

Cryptostylis subulata is a terrestrial orchid which grows in sandy soils in heath and woodland.

Plants are usually 30-50 cm high with 1 to 3 yellowish green leathery erect leaves 8-15cm long.

The yellowish-green flowers are about 22-30 mm long with edges folded upwards. They are reddish towards the tip. There may be 2 to 8 flowers along the stalk.

Cryptostylis subulata flowers in October, November, December, January, February, March.
