Description:

Variegated dark brown beetle with white markings. This one was very tiny and in a dark area. "Dorsal surface with scales of two colours: white and yellowish brown (may change to grey in older specimens). White scales condensed on lateral margins of pronotum, a prescutellar spot on the hind margin, and in several spots on elytra, usually partly merging into three tranverse fasciae." - BugGuide

Aka Variegated Carpet Beetle, Varied Cabinet Beetle, Small Cabinet Beetle. "Adults feed pollen on flowers; larvae feed keratine and chitin, and may cause considerable damage on wool, fur, feathers, and natural history collections. Typical household products consumed include dry pet food, wool blankets and garments, furs, and the accumulated shed hair and skin flakes of people and pets." - BugGuide
