Field Notes

Description:

Small salamander with a light brown nose patch and iridescent and other spots on the body. This might be a young form of the Northwest salamander, but the color is really different, as well as the size. The morphology could be a young version of the NW.

Habitat:

coastal temperate rainforest at about 500' elevation, 3 miles as the crow flies from the Pacific ocean, in soil of an old forest.
