With this mild winter and early spring-like conditions, ours will be budding out very soon. I will have to add a spotting to the site. Again, I'm embarrassed that I jumped the gun and didn't look deeper into the genus.
:) I didn't either until a couple weeks ago! They're beautiful and your state made a great choice to have yours as the state tree!
:) I have no idea that it is a redbud --leave only eastern or western..suggestions are welcome
Scratch my ID. I didn't realize there was a western form. *red-faced*
I'm curious how it was determined based on this photo that this is the Eastern Redbud and not our native Western Redbud. I've recently spotted a Cercis and want to make sure my ID is correct.
