Description:

The yellow-rumped thornbill (Acanthiza chrysorrhoa) is a species of passerine bird from the genus Acanthiza.

A small bird with brown wings, a yellow breast, brown tail feathers rimmed with a band of yellow and black and white spotted forehead on a greyish speckled head. It has a short tail and a long slender dark bill.

Habitat:

urban garden beside a coastal wildlife corridor.

Notes:

It inhabits savannah, scrub and forests across most of Australia and eats insects. The species engages in cooperative breeding.

thanks Joshua. I thought it might be a juvenile pardalote because of the colouring, but on second look, the beak is too long and pointy on this one. I think it's a Yellow-rumped Thornbill.
