Pitcher shaped plant with hood

Habitat:

i found it in a wetland in Oregon

Notes:

Pitcher plants grow in soil poor in nutrients, so they get nutrients by trapping insects. The pitcher forms a funnel that insects fall into and die. The dead insect is digested by the plant.
