Description:

A cluster of mushrooms, spotted in Stafford, England. The sequence (going backwards) shows how they grew over about a week.

Habitat:

Undergrowth / bark chippings.

Thanks Zlatan, yes I think you're right, looks like an Ink cap.
I'm never sure of my fungi IDs - the Common ink cap was my two-pence worth... Anyway, if not that one, it definitely looks like one of ink-caps or coprinoid fungi from Psathyrellaceae family; and mainly because of general shape, then that recurving edge that is starting to decompose and liquify; and there is no ring visible .
