I'd make a guess on some kind of Peat Moss - try to get as close as possible tomorrow and look up that family. Good luck, mate.

A fuzzy crop is the best I have (just uploaded it). No closer photos right now, unfortunately. I could go out tomorrow and see if I can get some close-ups.
