Here in Germany some major cities have animal ambulances - they care for both owned or wild/straying animals.
Yogesh, Apollo tends to chase bikers, too - especially me...he takes the bike as prey and always tries to stop and face it by overtaking me and cutting my direction to stop me. He's not after strangers on bike though...he knows what's allowed and what's not; took some lessons to teach him though.
In fact in Baroda, they do have it. If the dog has a problem a lady called Lata ben ,has organized a clinic. They come in the ambulance and if it has a wound they treat it. They also treat it for worms etc. Only problem they have is limited resources. So it could take day or two before help arrives. They try to make it earlier in emergencies. The biggest problem I heard is beating the traffic!!
Lars, my 2 femmale dogs are what we call in Portugal, rafeiros(street dogs)and all my 10 cats to:)i dont know the exact name in inglish, they are medium size, one Lena, more old(10) the other Flôr(flower:)more fresh(1,5),so the 2 problem of your apollo can be solved whith a little voyage to portugal:)
Thanks Emma, Galantliv and Ashish - he feels like a star now ;)
@ Emma - regarding that Mango-issue...depends on the size of the dog I'd say. Fruits and vegetables can be pretty dangerous for dogs, since many substances contained in these are poisonous to dogs while not for us humans (nuts, onions...but also chocolate, containing kakao which is heavily poisonous to dogs - 100g can kill an average sized dog within 24h). I wonder how a dog dared to swallow an entire Mango in one piece...
i just came back from a friends home who was worried sick that her dog had eaten a huge mango which she had left on the counter. He seems to be OK though.
Can a dog handle a big mango even if he swallowed it whole?
