Description:

The shell is oval. The carapace is olive green to black. The plastron is red to orange with black patterning. The skin is is green with yellow lines. Females are larger and range from 7-10 in. in length.

Habitat:

Ponds, rivers, and lakes, especially those with sunken logs or rocks on which they can haul out.
