Field Notes

Description:

After looking through a spotting scope, we concluded it was a short-eared owl. It was evening, right around sunset, and the owl was very active along with a Northern Harrier (post to follow)

Habitat:

Beluga wetlands and forest next to Beluga Lake

Notes:

We were lucky enough to be in Homer during the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival, so some other birders were at this location and we determined ID together
