Field Notes

Description:

Green with black splotches, about an inch in length.

Habitat:

Found in Manoa Valley of Hawai'i. In the forests deep in the back of the valley by the Treetops Restaurant.

Notes:

Introduced to Manoa valley to get rid of the Mosquitos.

Yes, I was told that is the reason why we have them here. That was the first and only time I have ever seen one. Yes, we still have mosquitos
There is only one possible species in Hawaii: Dendrobates auratus, actually as you noted already introduced against mosquitos. Ehm... Do you still have mosquitos in Hawaii??
