Field Notes

Description:

Tiny yellow caterpillar with pale and grayish hairs. Darker shading above and a small red mark near the end of the abdomen. This looks like an early instar, so identification may be difficult.

Habitat:

Temperate forest. Found crawling on a bench. Gardiner County Park, New York.
