Description:

Epiphytic fern found in freshwater wetland areas of Florida. Is brown and shriveled up during the dry season. Upon the first rain this fern "resurrects" into lush green foliage. Quite a spectacular sight, see all photos. Nomenclature (scientific name) unknown.

Habitat:

Epiphyte found in damp forests/jungle and freshwater wetland areas

Notes:

Looking forward to more photos of this wonderful fallen tree this rainy season. According to one park ranger, it is the most photographed tree in 6 Mile Cypress Slough Nature Preserve in Ft Myers Florida. Its easy to see why...

Thanks Alice. This photo was taken the day after a (rare) winter rain shower. Its the dry season here in south Florida, but one good late afternoon rain was enough for the so named "resurrection". :)
