Sonchus and Sorrel both are possibilities. I will have a better look at it tomorrow. Thnx for the feedback. Every bit helps and leads to an ID.

Emma I hv less idea about American weed but this might be "Sonchus oleraceus"..

Seema , Thanks. Sorrel is another edible weed/vegetable. We have active seed dispersal here. Finding all kinds of unexpected plants!!
