Field Notes

Description:

Big hornet, around 30 mm length with base yellow color, black arrow-like pattern on it's abdomen and red/black torso and parts of its head, the legs are red and also the antenna at the base.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, on an old oak tree. Close to Sutjeska National Park.

Notes:

There was a lot of activity surrounding this tree, most likely because of all the insect the vasps were preying on.
