Description:

Armadillos have a protective shell, making it one of the only living mammals to do so. "Wildlife with Innovative Defenses" spotting for NATIONAL WILDLIFE WEEK.

Notes:

Nine-banded armadillos are common here in Florida even tought they are not native to Floria, but introduced back in early 1900′s. They love to hide under the Saw Palmettos.

pretty! looks like Colorado and Florida has more variety of mammals than we do here in California.
What a cute little guy! And so nice to see a live one as we only seem to see them as roadkill round here.
