Description:

These Caddisfly larvae as well as the pupa in (pic4) will spend their lives in water. They construct a portable casing to protect themselves as they move around looking for food. Made from silk and reinforced with sand, pebbles and debris.

Habitat:

Spotted in a freshwater stream on the Olympic peninsula.
