Those are gorgeous pictures!!! My aunt lives near the Los Angeles forest in Sylmar, CA. I've seen the peafowl there only use flight to reach locations too high to get to by jumping. There's a peacock that visits a neighbor's roof most evenings, and it takes a short flight for him to get up there.
Lovely bird and great picture; looks like it might be troublesome to fly with such a long tail and way in front wings.
If it not necessary they won't fly, because each flight uses a lot of energy. In the photo they flew over 100 meters across the river where i've pinned in the map.
@Kata---thank you! Awesome. They never fly here in America, not sure if they don't want to or if they clip their wings or what....but have never seen one fly.
