Description:

This rodófito can measure about 25 cm long. It is a highly branched algae, deep red and cartilaginous consistency. The main shaft has a rhomboid section to be flattening gradually until the end. The alga is fixed to the rock by a disk from where the main axes, these axes branch off and end up forking (dichotomous branching).-----------------------------------------------Este rodófito puede llegar a medir unos 25 centímetros de longitud. Es una alga muy ramificada, de color rojo intenso y de consistencia cartilaginosa. El eje principal tiene una sección romboidea que se va aplanando poco a poco hasta los extremos. La alga se fija a la roca gracias a un disco de donde salen los ejes principales, estos ejes se ramifican y terminan bifurcándose (ramificación dicotómica).

Habitat:

Costa rocosa a orillas del Mar Mediterráneo.
