Description:

It is the smallest of the genus Diplodus sp. It has a compressed body. It has the mouth a little prominent, but the lips are thin. Its distinctive feature is the black spot on the caudal peduncle are (home of the "tail"), which forms a ring that surrounds the body. Adults are uniformly silver, with slightly yellowed pelvic fins. In young individuals we can find five lateral transverse lines.<br> <br>
Es el más pequeño del género de los Diplodus sp. Tiene el cuerpo comprimido. Tiene la boca un poco prominente, aunque los labios son finos. Su característica inconfundible es la mancha negra que tienen en el pedúnculo caudal (inicio de "la cola"), que forma un anillo que le envuelve esa parte del cuerpo. Los adultos son plateados uniformemente, con las aletas pélvicas ligeramente amarilleadas. En los individuos jóvenes podemos encontrar cinco líneas transversales laterales.

Habitat:

Playa de aguas someras en La Azohía, a orillas del Mar Mediterráneo.
