I've not photographed a lot of wildlife there, mostly landscapes and fishing photos. Someplace I've got a photo of a huge bull moose. It's pre-digital, but I'll have to try and find it and get it scanned. Unfortunately, moose are disappearing pretty quickly in that area. This last year their population was down 14% in just one year. The good news is that there is a fairly good ratio of bulls to cows right now and a fairly high ratio of calves to cows this winter.
Ely, MN one of my favorite small towns ever.... I do a lot of wilderness canoeing in the BW so get up there 1-5 times a year. Fun place just to wander around in. Liam, Hmmmm.... I think you're right. I had it tagged in LIghtroom as a lesser. Wonder why I thought it was a greater? Thanks for spotting that....
Great series of photos! The short bill and long primary projection make it a Lesser Yellowlegs.
Excellent pics and lovely looking bird. Good catch.
