Field Notes

Description:

This large grasshopper was amazingly alert and would not let me approach within 5 metres. Estimated to be 50mm long body. Bands of green and brown, green head and eyes. Very difficult to see in the short grass.

Habitat:

In a grassy and sedgy area of a local national park.
