Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

Hello I moved your spotting to the Arthropods category. Well did you know if you search the internet on "blue crab" and Maryland, you come up with Callinectes sapidus for the scientific name. It's often that easy for a common species. Sometimes it's not so easy and in that case it is OK to leave the scientific name blank. But be sure to tick the box that says "Help me ID this species" in that case.! But if you're considering to add an ID to a species, make sure not only that it looks like the image in the spotting but also that species occurs where the spotting occurs. There are many species that look alike but are different. In the case of the blue crab on the Atlantic coast of North America, that is not the case. :-)
