Description:

This tan moth has a taupe wave across its dorsal wings and about a 1.5" wingspan. The wings are fringed.

Habitat:

Drawn to a porch light in a suburban area at night.

It could be the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_carpet as far as I can see it's very similar with pattern and size.
