Field Notes

Description:

The moth's wings are pale cream with numerous brown streaks and are 60-76mm in length.

Habitat:

They occur over much of south-east Asia, from India to Fiji, including Borneo, Hong Kong, India, New Guinea, Singapore, and the tropical north of Australia including Queensland.

Notes:

I discovered it outside, resting against a concrete wall near a street light.

Hi, Arne.roysland thanks for the information. I looked for the species' common name but only found the SN, so thanks a lot. Also, I apologize for my mistake; I didn't see what was put inside the parenthesis; my apologies. I'm going to change the common name and the mission assigned, thank you once more :D

Hi Grabs! Butterflies and moths are in the same order Lepidoptera. So perhaps instead of mission "Insects of the Philippines (other than butterflies)" it is better to use "WILD Cities: Urban Biodiversity".

Beautiful moth! The black spots on the tip of its hindwing look like tiny hearts.
