34.7542, -77.9249
Field Notes
Description:
White tailed deer are herbivores. They feed on fruit, corn, and whatever else happens to be in season. The special stomach of the deer allows it to digest things humans can not like poison ivy.
Humans are the largest predator of the deer. In some areas they are over hunted. In other places, task forces have been used to limit extreme populations.
Habitat:
The white tailed deer live in the temperate regions of Canada and the US. They are a type of generalist species and live in a variety of habitats. They can live in the forests, prairies, and woodlands of North America.
