Description:

The Limpkin is a large dark brown wading bird. I was lucky to spot this one as it was flying away during a trip through southern Louisiana. They are a wetland bird that is found in South and Central America, the Caribbean, portions of Mexico, and Florida.

Habitat:

Spotted at the Lacassine NWR in southern Louisiana.
