Field Notes
Description:
Mottled Gray with darker cap. Yellow-orange eyes, curved beak.
Tail was long and banded.
Habitat:
*Pine trees line the back edge of property and mature pines also line the road behind our property as well.
Area is a gated man-made lake community, surrounded by rural agricultural land, and some deciduous forest areas. In areas that are not mowed, the land is old fields within the community, and are mowed biannually. Ditchlines and treelines are left untouched.
Notes:
Spotted stalking songbirds in the trees.
With such similarities with a Cooper's Hawk, it was identified by it's calls, as it has "hung around" our property for almost 2 weeks now.
