Field Notes

Description:

Short, narrow leaves. Purple flowers that resemble upward-facing legume blossoms. Growing in dense clusters low to ground.

Habitat:

Found growing amongst rocks in arid conditions at a high elevation in Suyukou National Forest Park, Ningxia, China.

Notes:

The closest thing I can find that resembles this is Spiny Milk Vetch (Astragalus kentrophyta), but that is native to western North America, not central Asia.

So confused at this point.
