Description:

There are two distinct populations of Mottled Ducks. One population living on the Gulf of Mexico between Alabama and Mexico. The other (The Florida Duck) lives in central and south Florida. It is the Florida Mottled Duck that is pictured above.

Notes:

The Mottled Duck looks much like the female mallard duck. Most people seeing a mottled duck think its a mallard for feather and color patterns are so similar.
