Emma,MaryRosales,i spott today 3 pigeons whith deformatys in the legs that i'll up load in a few minutes,it's a desis,or a genetic malformation,it's spreat allover the city,i spotted in tree diferent places, distant from each other more or less 2 km,diferents groups of pigeons.
I always pick up plastic and nettings when i see them and throw them in the garbage.
A finch had got caught up on the lawn net and it was struggling for a long time to get out. I am sure if I had not seen it in time it probably would have a deformity on its foot. Fortunately I decided not to cut the net of like my neighbors suggested. And once again thnx to the Lindsay Wildlife museum for taking care of it.
Could be, because i saw at list one whith some string in the feet claws,i'll be more atention,to figure out what hapen, thanks both for the interest
perhaps they were caught by a fish hook; this happens at many of the lakes nearby
interesting .Must be a reason so many of the pigeons have these malformations.
