I'am very courious to figure out what cause this.By talking about gull whithou a leg i spott this one 2 days ago,its a big gull one of the leaders of the place a surviver:) http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/9314795
this one looks like it's foot was bit off. They also have wings to move from place to place. it is impressive Argybee,how they survive on damaged legs.
I wonder what might cause this. I have seen cats catch the legs of birds and water birds often get caught by fish etc. On the positive side I've been impressed sometimes by how well some birds can survive with damaged legs. Seagulls around here hardly even notice a missing foot.
