Ok great. Glad you were able to see them up close.
they are blue herons....they took flight in my backyard...they were not white they were blue/gray
@Kim----see below, Liam believes them to be Great Egrets...they looked blue to me on the screen but if they were not blue but were white they are not Great Blue Herons...
At first glance I would never have seen them as being that pale (guess that's a difference in screen angle) and the underside can be harder to identify...but you could be right now that I have magnified a bit.....could be white.
Much too pale for Great Blue Heron and the "Great White Heron" isn't found in Louisiana. To me these look like Great Egrets (Ardea alba).

I agree with Apple -- Great Blue Herons.
They look like Great Blue Herons to me.
